Depression & Low Mood

NATUROPATHIC CARE FOR DEPRESSION & LOW MOOD

A whole-person approach to depression and low mood, looking at your mental health, nervous system, hormones, nutrition, sleep and overall health to understand the bigger picture.

JUMP TO

When you don't feel like yourself anymore, your whole life can feel different.

Sometimes depression looks like sadness. Sometimes it looks like exhaustion, irritability, brain fog, withdrawing from the people you love, or simply feeling disconnected from the things that used to matter to you.

You may be functioning on the outside while feeling very different on the inside.

Naturopathic care looks beyond mood alone to consider the physical, emotional and lifestyle factors that may be influencing how you're feeling.

You may be experiencing :

  • Feeling persistently sad, flat or emotionally numb

  • Losing interest in things you normally enjoy

  • Feeling exhausted or lacking motivation

  • Difficulty concentrating or thinking clearly

  • Sleeping too much or struggling to sleep

  • Feeling more irritable or emotionally reactive

  • Withdrawing from friends, family or activities

  • Feeling overwhelmed by everyday responsibilities

  • Changes in appetite or cravings

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself

  • Finding it difficult to feel excited about the future

  • Feeling like you're just going through the motions

When low mood starts affecting everyday life

My approach to depression & low mood

Depression isn't something I look at in isolation. As a naturopathic doctor with a clinical focus on mental health, I look at how your nervous system, hormones, nutrition, sleep, digestion and overall health may be influencing how you're feeling.

My approach combines evidence-informed naturopathic medicine with a practical, individualized approach to care. We'll look at your symptoms in context, use laboratory testing when appropriate, and create a plan that supports your mental and physical health without overwhelming you with things to do.

Naturopathic care can complement conventional mental health care, including psychotherapy and medication, when appropriate.
